Chris Jericho Reveals He Got Paid Small Amount At 2016 WWE Live Event When Challenging For World Title

WWE Extreme Rules 2016 Asylum Match - Dean Ambrose vs Chris Jericho

AEW superstar Chris Jericho responded to a fan earlier today on Twitter who shared a WWE Live event card from 2016, which featured The Inner Circle leader challenging Dean Ambrose (now AEW’s Jon Moxley) for the WWE championship. Jericho revealed to the fan that he was only paid $750 for that appearance.

This wouldn’t be the first time WWE has reportedly underpaid talent for an appearance. Prior to his departure from WWE, current AEW champion Jon Moxley told the media that he was paid $500 for the Shield Final Chapter special on the WWE Network, a televised live event that would mark the final appearance of the once dominant faction.

Moxley and Jericho would meet once again in AEW, where Moxley defeated Le Champion to become the promotion’s second world champion in history.
