Kevin Owens Makes NXT Return, Will He Be Remaining In NXT?

The latest chapter in WarGames history has been written as the men’s version of the match is in the books.

WWE held the match at the NXT TakeOver: WarGames III event in Chicago, Illinois at the Allstate Arena on the WWE Network. The fourth member of Ciampa was Kevin Owens.

This contest saw Tommaso Ciampa, Donovan Dijak, Keith Lee and Owens beat The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Roderick Strong & Kyle O’Reilly) in the headliner.

They put on one heck of a match that delivered. For those who may not know, the gimmick match was originally used in the NWA and later held annually in WCW.

Last year’s event saw War Raiders, Ricochet & Pete Dunne beat The Undisputed Era (Kyle O’Reilly, Adam Cole, Bobby Fish & Roderick Strong) in a WarGames match.

WWE holds the fallout episode from this show of NXT on Wednesday in Winter Park, Florida at Full Sail University.

It appears that Owens is in NXT for good but WWE has yet to confirm whether this was a one-night-only appearance or not.

In the post-show live stream Triple H was asked about Owens’status with the yellow-and-black brand, a question he was unsure about. The Game says that Owens is still scheduled to compete for Team Raw at tomorrow’s Survivor Series, but there is no guarantee that he can be trusted, nor is there a guarantee that he’ll return to NXT. In a media call, Triple H called the return an epic moment in the brand’s history.

I promised an epic moment tonight, I think Kevin Owens more than delivered and blew the roof off this building. I think just knowing Kevin as well as I know Kevin, this was probably one of the biggest moments he’s had in a long, long time. It was awesome to see him in an NXT right again.
