Robert Roode Returns to WWE RAW

Robert Roode returns to WWE TV during tonight’s RAW main event from the Amway Center in Orlando.

Roode answered the Open Challenge issued earlier in the night by WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. After the challenge was issued, we saw Dolph Ziggler, Roode’s last tag team partner, speaking with WWE Producer Adam Pearce to arrange Roode’s return. Roode ended up playing the heel and losing to McIntyre after a back & forth match.

It’s been reported that Roode was stuck in Canada due to travel restrictions related to COVID-19. It was reported last week that WWE had plans for him to return to the red brand soon. Before tonight Roode had not competed since the Elimination Chamber Match for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles back in March. He and Ziggler had been teaming together on the blue brand, but they are both members of the SmackDown roster as of this writing.
