This was OK, but may have been a little too long. They told a good story and Cesaro especially looked crisp in the ring. The story of the match was such that Cesaro really controlled the bout but the knee issues led to Hardy getting a surprise win, more or less. The idea is that this is Hardy’s last run.

Renee thought Baron Corbin might have the upper hand because he’s won MITB before, but pondered whether any previous experience will factor here.

She reviewed that Drew defeated Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 36 and tonight is facing someone who has also beaten Brock, Seth Rollins. She said people were looking at him as an underdog. He said that everyone who knows his story and his ups and downs knows he’s David, not Goliath. Seth is phenomenal but there’s a little thing called heart, called passion, called desire. Very much a squash with Lashley working a pissed, aggressive style.
Earlier today, Baron Corbin bragged about everyone he has beaten down in recent weeks. He said that the best is yet to come, as he’s going to claim his second Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Even someone as brilliant as he is, he doesn’t know what to expect but the risk will be worth the reward because he’ll be King Money in the Bank.
They showed Smackdown Women’s Champion Bayley and Sasha Banks walking in the back. Kayla Braxton said that Banks has always had her back but it was Sasha’s unsuccessful attempt to neutralize Lacey Evans leading to Bayley being pinned. She asked if Bayley blamed Banls. Braun slowly took off the mask and showed that he wasn’t part of Bray’s group by stomping the mask. Bray tried to get him to listen to him but Braun powerslammed and pinned him.
Your winner and still WWE Universal Champion, Braun Strowman!
That was what it was. Obviously, this was all a backdrop for The Fiend to fight Braun later on.

Drew flipped over for a two count.
Drew went for the Futureshock DDT but Rollins attacked his leg and covered him, only scoring a one count. They went back and forth and at this point, were far and away the best in-ring match on the show with lots of good near falls. McIntyre nailed the FutureShock for a two count. They battled to the top, where Drew was crotched on the top turnbuckle before being tied to the tree of woe. McIntyre was worked over but pulled up and suplexed Seth into the ring, with Rollins flipping into the ring. That looked great.
Rollins came back with a superkick for a close, close two count. They battle until Drew nailed the Glasgow Kiss and the Claymore Kick, scoring the clean three count.
Your winner and still WWE Champion Drew McIntyre!
Drew told Seth he was exactly what Drew needed. He told him he was the man, but not tonight. He dared Seth to show the world he really was a leader and to shake his hand. Seth finally did so. Drew thanked him and walked off, leaving Seth in the ring.

MONEY IN THE BANK MATCH
They have theme songs playing for the talents as they appear.
The women are starting in the lobby. The men are in the gym. Asuka did not appear when her music played. Turns out she was on another floor above. She dove off onto all the other women, wiping them out. Asuka danced to an elevator as they all tried to stop the door. She danced in the elevator as the rest charged for the stairs
The men all circled each other and brawled in the gym. Corbin threw a weight at Bryan but missed and shattered the mirrored wall that has been there forever. Lots of spots with Rey using weight equipment as his base to do lucha spots and head scissors. Otis lifted up a big bar bell with heavy weights on it and put it on Styles to trap him. Styles asked Rey for help but he turned down Styles.
They are playing dramatic music under all this. No commentary.
The men charged through the hallways of the Tower. Rey stopped at the bathroom when a toilet flushed and out walked BROTHER LOVE. He told Rey he loved him and Rey said, “I love you too, but I gotta go” and ran off. That was funny. Everyone else battled in the hallway and into an elevator. Rey missed the elevator and kept running,
The women battled their way up a flight of stairs and pressed a button on an elevator. The doors opened and the guys all spilled out, so now everyone was in the same place. Asuka’s elevator opened and she was all this and hid in the elevator. The man battled into a room that was set up as a backdrop for photos with ringropes and Bryan tied up Corbin in the ropes. Doink the Clown peered up from behind a chair.
In another part of the building, Nia crashed Dana Brooke through a door. Shayna followed and tossed her over a conference table. Nia and Shayna battled each other. Shayna was taken down. Nia was nailed with a chair by Dana. Dana saw a briefcase hanging above the table and removed it. Stephanie McMahon told her she was in the MITB Conference Room and the real briefcase was on the roof. Carmella nailed Dana with a picture frame and moonwalked out of the room.
AJ Styles, free, said he was looking for Rey. He got scared when he came across a photo of The Undertaker in a hallway. He opened a door and The Undertaker’s music played. Styles had a “flashback” to the Boneyard Match. He said, “No way” and tried to back out of the room but Aleister Black kicked him into it and closed the door as Styles screamed “No!”
We went to catering, where Paul Heyman was about to eat a sandwich. Everyone spilled in from different doors. Dana ran in with the picture frame around her head. Otis called for a food fight and smashed a plate of food into Heyman, who stood there stunned. Everyone had a food fight. Shayna grabbed Rey in a choke. Otis and Nia sandwiched Rey. This is entertaining as hell.
Nia powerbombed Carmella through a table and left her laying. She faced off with Otis, who was chomping away on some food, then they exited through different doors. Otis ended up in the cafeteria serving room and was excited by pies. John Laurinaits showed up in an electric scooter and said “People Power!” Otis pied him in the face.
In another room, a janitor was mopping the floor. Asuka showed up and tried to get directions to the roof in Japanese. The other women followed and Asuka threw his mop at her. Dana Brooke, bringing up the rear, fell on the wet floor. The women battled their way to a stairway.
Elsewhere, the men battled their way through the Tower. Styles and Bryan battled into Vince McMahon’s office. Vince was sitting there and stood up, with his theme music playing. They stopped and looked at him and he yelled at them to get out. They fixed his office up and left. Outside, Styles told Bryan he was acting like a coward in there. Bryan said he’s the one who said to put the chairs back. Styles agreed that he did and they continued fighting. Corbin and Black joined the fray. They all battled into another conference room. Styles was tossed into the wall. Corbin declared he was going to the roof.
They had an outside camera shot rising up the side of the building and an overhead shot of the ring on the roof. Nia and Asuka brawled into the ring. Lacey followed and speared Asuka. Nia pressed Lacey overhead and dropped her. Nia brought a ladder into the ring. She set it up. Everyone battled. Asuka pulled her off and did the same to Lacey. Asuka toppled the ladder over onto Nia. Lacey attacked Asuka and drove her face into the ladder over and over.
Lacey tried to make her wau up the ladder but Asuka pulled her down and began ascending the ladder. Lacey followed and climbed right behind her, grabbing Asuka by the hair to keep her from reaching the briefcase. Asuka knocked her down onto Nia in the ring. Asuka climbed the ladder as Baron Corbin climbed and tried to grab his case. He tried to move Asuka so she kicked him. Asuka removed the case and won the MITB Briefcase.
Your winner of the Women’s MITB Match, Asuka!
The Men’s match continues.
Otis emerged on the roof, tripping. They kept that in. Otis tried to climb the ladder but the rungs broke under his weight. Corbin attacked him with the ladder and charged him in the corner. Otis moved and Corbin hit the corner and crashed to the mat. Otis did the caterpillar. Rey hit the ring with a sit-down Thesz Press. Rey and Black battled to the top of the ladder. Styles shoved it over. Rey bounced to the outside where Corbin TOSSED HIM OFF THE ROOF. Black and Corbin battled and Black was TOSSED OFF THE ROOF TOO.
The remaining four, uh, living? competitors battled in the ring. Styles nailed Otis with a Pele Kick. He came off the ropes. Styles and Corbin battled to the top of the ladder over the case. They removed it but battled over it. Elias showed up and nailed Corbin with a guitar. That caused Styles to fumble the case and it landed in the hands of OTIS!
Your winner, Otis!
